PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: March 31, 1917 - The United States took possession of the Virgin Islands.
LUNCH: Beef and cheese taco, Spanish rice, lettuce/tomato, fresh fruit
Congratulations to Joey Liu - accepted to UC Irvine and UC Santa Cruz, Cal State San Diego and Cal State San Jose.
ATHLETICS:
1. TRACK - HOME for Frontier League #2. Track meet begins at 3:00PM. Team is excused from class at 1:50PM.
2. VOLLEYBALL – HOME w/OAK PARK. JV Game begins at 5:30PM, Varsity follows.
3. SOFTBALL – AWAY @ GRACE BRETHREN – VARSITY ONLY. Varsity game begins at 3:30PM. Team is excused from class at 1:00PM
to depart at 1:15PM
4. BOYS GOLF - AWAY @ BUENA. Match begins at 1:00PM. Team excused at 11:07
CLUBS:
1. Anime Club meeting on Thursday at lunch in the art room (34)
2. Flashes Go Green Clean-up – FRIDAY after school in the quad. Help clean up the campus and enjoy some FREE food!
3. MENTOR PROGRAM: Congratulations to Maria Magana & Ricardo Aparicio - this week’s "Mentors of the Week".
4. The M.E.Ch.A Club invites all ladies to sign up to run for the Cinco de Mayo court. Sign up in Rm. 45 (Ms. Juarez) before school, tutorial or
at lunch. Interviews will be April 4 – 7.
SENIORS:
1. Graduation Announcements will be handed out on Friday, April 15th during lunch. You will be receiving a postcard from Josten’s with your
balance at the beginning of April. You can only pay with Cash, Debit or Credit card…NO CHECKS. If you have questions see Ms. Sheff or
Lynn.
SCHOLARSHIPS: FOR FULL DETAILS SEE THE LIST IN THE COLLEGE & CAREER CENTER
• Rotary Club of Fillmore Sun Risers - Deadline is April 1st.
• Rotary Club of Fillmore-Noontime - Deadline is April 1st
• Piru Petroleum - Deadline is April 1st.
• Fillmore Women’s Service Club - Deadline is April 6th.
• Mario and Rosaria Contini Scholarship - Deadline is April 15th.
• Henry Mayo Newhall Scholarship - Deadline is April 15th.
• Bob Kernen Memorial Scholarship is available to students who plan
to attend a four-year university. You must have a 3.0 GPA. Deadline
is April 22nd. See Mrs. Larin for an application.
• Elizabeth Hinklin Fillmore Girls Softball Scholarship is available to
students who have participated in Fillmore Softball and/or Fillmore
Bobby Sox Softball for at least four seasons and plan to attend a
university, community college, or a vocational school. Students must
also have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Deadline is April 13th.
SOPHMORES:
1. CLASS RINGS - Jostens will be here Wednesday, April 6th and Thursday, April 7th during break and lunch to take orders for class rings.
STUDENTS:
1. FHS Talent Show- pick up an audition form in the Student Store. Turn it in by April 13th to Mr. Overton or Barbara Lemons. TEACHERS –
You’re invited to participate also! Who knows, you might be discovered!
2. The Arts Show is scheduled for April 12th. If you have artwork that you would like to exhibit in the show, please bring it/them to Rm. 34
3. Thinking of going to Prom? Sure you are! Don’t miss out! Do your homework, ask questions in class and get whatever help you need
because you must have minimum of a 2.0 GPA by the 4th qtr Progress Report to go to Prom and all detentions cleared up and no
truancies etc., You are needed at Prom so get busy getting the GPA up, be good and be at school! :) Prom tickets will go on sale
on April 27.
4. The Fillmore Aquatic Center will be having class's for anyone interested in becoming a lifeguard or swim instructor. The dates for the lifeguard
class are: April 1- April 3 and April 8- April 10. This is just ONE class that covers both of the mentioned weekends, Friday, Sat. and Sun. The
cost of the class is $150.00 and does cover materials. You may sign up and pay for the class at Fillmore City Hall. The dates for the Water
Safety Instruction (swim instructor) class are April 15 - April 17 and April 29 - May 1. This also is just ONE class that covers two weekends
Friday, Sat. and Sun. The cost of this class is $150.00 and does cover materials. Sign up and payment are also at Fillmore City Hall.
5. Don’t forget that we have LATE START on Friday. TARDY BELL rings at 8:35. You need to be IN
YOUR SEAT by the time the tardy bell rings.
STUDENTS & STAFF:
1. Totally Rad, the 80’s Musical opens this Friday, April 1st! To celebrate the opening, everyone is invited to wear your 80’s hair
and clothes. Tickets are now on sale.

Mrs. Beylik’s Period 3 & 4, ROP students, who are interning in a business downtown: Please tell your supervisors that you need to leave your
jobsite early enough to be back on campus TODAY for the 12:00 senior meeting.
