Early Wednesday morning a 70-foot Oak tree on Orange Grove Avenue was blown down in a strong wind. The tree, rotten at the trunk, snapped and crushed a Mercedes car owned by Jean McLeod of Fillmore.

The massive tree blocked the street and crashed aside an uninhabited house which was recently destroyed by fire.

No one was injured in the incident. Damage to the car was extensive.
