On Monday, January 21st, at 7:11am, the Fillmore Fire Department responded to a woman in labor at the corner of B Street and Ventura, at the Seven-Eleven convenience market. Upon arrival Fire personnel found Julie E. Bernal, of Fillmore, in her Astro minivan, about to give birth. Firefighter/Medics Toller, Rolfe and Firefighter Katz helped with the delivery of the new baby boy, Caleb Sanchez-Bernal, before AMR Ambulance arrived on scene. Caleb weighed in at 7 lbs 6 ounces, 20.5 inches. The baby’s father, Aminadab Sanchez, of Santa Paula, and Grandpa Bernal were present. Mother and “Astro Boy” are doing well.
