On Thursday, January 18, Fillmore Fire Department was dispatched to a reported vegetation fire at the Santa Clara Riverbed near Burlington Street and Surrey Way. The arriving engine reported a 30' x 30' spot fire in the Arundo area. The call was upgraded to a brushfire and with the assistance of the Ventura County Fire Department, fire personnel knocked it down within minutes before it could spread.
