Fillmore City Fire Department and the Ventura County Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 250 E. Telegraph Road at the El Dorado Mobile Home Estates on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at 3:45 p.m. When firefighters arrived, they encountered a mobile home fully involved in flames. Neighbors were spraying water with garden hoses to stop the fire from spreading to surrounding residences. Fillmore Fire Chief Keith Gurrola said the fire’s rapid spread within the unit was due to the heat; in the city on Sunday, the high temperature was 91 degrees. Due to the fire investigator’s determination that the incident was suspicious in nature, Fillmore City Fire dispatched the Fillmore Police Department to assist with the investigation while fire crews were on the site. A 27-year-old woman who lives at the home was arrested by deputies based on their investigation at the scene. The female subject was taken into custody for PC 451-Arson and was booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility, said Fillmore Police Chief Eduardo Malagon. Photo credit Angel Esquivel-AE News. |
