At approximately 3:30pm Friday, Martin Gonzales 23, of Fillmore made a left turn from westbound Sespe Street to southbound Central Avenue. While completing his turn, his Ford Expedition struck Pedro Garcia 85, from Fillmore, who was walking eastbound in the crosswalk. Gonzales waited with Garcia until emergency personnel from the Fillmore Police Department, Fillmore Fire Department, and American Medical Response arrived minutes later. Garcia was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center with minor-to-moderate injuries. Initial investigation found no indication of drug or alcohol use by either party.
