On May 13, 2013, at approximately 9:36 A.M., deputies from the Fillmore Patrol Station and Fillmore Fire Department personnel responded to a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle in the area of A Street and Old Telegraph Road.

The initial investigation at the scene revealed the female pedestrian was jogging on the Old Telegraph Road bike path and was struck when she crossed A street. All lanes of traffic were shut down while sheriff deputies, paramedics from AMR and the Fillmore Fire Department attended to the scene and victim. The female jogger was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center in serious condition. Investigators from the Thousand Oaks Police Department Traffic Bureau assisted with the investigation. The Fillmore Police Department would like to take this opportunity to remind drivers to pay attention while driving near crosswalks and to actively look for pedestrians crossing the street. Additionally, pay attention for other cars on the roadway that might be slowing or stopping for pedestrians.
