Sheriff’s Detectives Apprehend Attempted Murder Suspect
A stabbing took place on Saturday, May 16, at approximately 6:20pm. The victim received multiple stab wounds in the gang-related attack. The first medical call went out for the Palm and Santa Clara Street area. The victim was later located in the 100 block of Surrey Way and treated, above. He was transferred to Ventura County Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Police cordoned off the Palm/Santa Clara area, above. Suspect Daniel Torres has been arrested. Daniel Torres On the evening of May 16, 2015, Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 500 block of Santa Clara St. in Fillmore, where it was reported that a male suspect had attacked and stabbed a man with a knife. The wounded victim fled to a nearby residence, where he was given first aid and transported to Ventura County Medical Center with serious wounds to his upper & lower body. During the initial investigation, detectives were able to identify the suspect as Daniel Torres and determined that the attack was gang related. On May 18, 2015, detectives from the Sheriff’s Gang Unit and Major Crimes Bureau located (S) Torres as he left a residence in the City of San Bernardino. Torres was immediately taken into custody and transported to the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility, where he was booked on charges of Attempt Murder and Committing a Crime for the Benefit of a Criminal Street Gang.
