On Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 12:59am, a Fillmore Police Patrol sergeant advised dispatch of an attempted traffic stop taking place in the 1100 block of Ventura St., Fillmore. According to radio traffic, the driver failed to yield, causing a short pursuit. The sergeant advised the driver struck a street sign and ran over restaurant landscaping, causing him to crash into the rear of El Pescador, taking out one of the support-arches. The subject fled from the officer on foot, jumping fences in the surrounding neighborhood. Responding officers set up a perimeter in the area and were unable to find the subject while deputies investigated DNA swabs taken from the vehicle. Photo & caption credit Angel Esquivel-AE News.
