At approximately 4:50 a.m. Sunday, the Fillmore Fire Department received a structure fire call. Arriving at the Christian Evangelical Church, 900 block of Third Street, the Department found the steeple fully engulfed in flames. Fillmore Fire, Ventura County, and Santa Paula Fire battled the blaze for about an hour. The structure was a complete loss after the steeple collapsed into the main structure.
