Courtesy Tim Holmgren The City of Fillmore passes proclamations for a variety of good and worthy reasons. A proclamation is passed recognizing Constitution Month/Week & Day, outstanding service to the City by a group or an individual and even when a FUSD sports team wins a championship. This time of the year, we hear a lot about pride. There’s a pride proclamation the mayor should sign in June to emphasize and recognize our Traditional American Families and take pride in them. Let’s declare June, “Traditional American Family Pride Month.” Here’s an example of what that proclamation might look like: WHEREAS, a traditional American family typically provides a strong emotional support system, where family members can rely on one another during challenging times, fostering a sense of belonging and security. |
