Lucian John Meyers ended his journey here on earth as a servant of God, Civil Engineer, loving husband and amazing father on November 1, 2009. Lucian was born in Pipestone, Minnesota on September 1, 1924. His family moved around to several cities in the mid-west until they finally moved out west and settled in Sacramento, California. He attended Christian Brothers High School and graduated in 1942. He then attended Sacramento Junior College and UC Berkley completing his Civil Engineering education through correspondence school. Lucian worked in the California Department of Water Resources from 1947 through 1960, where he worked on such projects as the California Aqueduct and the Feather River Project. On October 30, 1960, he resigned from State Service to join the firm of Bookman, Edmonston and Giannelli, where he came to serve as the Executive Vice-President and Projects Manager. He worked on projects in Central California, Arizona and Costa Rica before he retired. Lucian's affiliations reflected the interests in his life. He was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Knights of Columbus and sung with the Sacramento, Glendale and Pasadena Philharmonics. He was an avid football fan having played football in both high-school and college and a baseball fan spending many afternoons with family and co-workers at L.A. Dodger games.

Lucian leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years and children Peter Meyers, Anne Chermak, Jeanne Schnell, James Meyers and Susan Berdahl and 10 grand children. He was buried at Santa Clara Cemetary in Oxnard, California on November 6, 2009.
