“ASK” gang members from Santa Paula arrested

In the early morning hours of Friday, June 3, 2011 members of the Santa Paula Police Department, with assistance from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office and Investigators with the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office served search warrants at 7 residents in Santa Paula and one search warrant at a residence in the City of Ventura.

Following the execution of those search warrants, arrest warrants were served on the following individuals found at these locations:

• Esteban Oseguera, DOB 10-23-92,of Santa Paula for Rape by Force, Kidnapping, Conspiracy, and Street Terrorism
• Isaac Ek, DOB,10-22-91, of Santa Paula for Rape by Force, Kidnapping, Conspiracy, and Street Terrorism
• Joseph Sandoval, DOB 09-22-92,of Santa Paula for Kidnapping, Battery with serious bodily injury, Child Abuse, Conspiracy, and Street terrorism

All of the above are “ASK” gang members from Santa Paula. Also arrested were:

• Jonathan Gaona, DOB 06-07-91, a Cabrillo Village gang member from Ventura living in Santa Paula for Unlawful Intercourse with a Minor, Rape with an Intoxicated Person, Street Terrorism, and Conspiracy
• Dion Mendoza, DOB 10-29-91, Cabrillo Village gang member from Ventura living in Santa Paula, for Rape by Force, Rape with an Intoxicated Person, Street Terrorism, and Conspiracy

• A Juvenile male from Santa Paula with ties to the “ASK” gang was also charged with Rape by Force, Rape with Threats, Rape while Victim is Asleep, Kidnapping, Conspiracy, and Street Terrorism

Two additional arrest warrants were served as a result of this investigation:

• Carlos Ek, DOB 11-17-88 of Santa Paula was arrested Friday evening and was charged with Battery with serious bodily injury, Child Abuse, Street Terrorism, and a Weapons Charge (in possession of a loaded firearm at the time of arrest.
• Adrian Garcia, DOB 2-1-92, a Cabrillo Village gang member from Ventura living in Santa Paula was arrested on Sunday morning (06/05/11)for Unlawful Intercourse with a Minor, Rape with an Intoxicated Person, Street Terrorism, and Conspiracy

All search warrants were executed without incident. Various items were seized in connection with this investigation as well as for other ongoing criminal investigations. All arrests were completed without incident as well; the subjects were eventually transported to the Ventura County Jail.

Based on this investigation thus far, the Santa Paula Police Department feels it is reasonable to assume additional sexual assault victims may exist. Any victims are strongly urged to come forward and report these incidents to authorities.
