Arrest of Barricaded Subject

Ventura County Sheriff's Department At 9 pm last night, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team arrested a barricaded subject at his residence after he had brandished a weapon at a female victim earlier in the evening. No one was injured as a result of the arrest. At one point during the event, the subject is believed to have fired a round inside the residence. The surrounding residences were temporarily evacuated. After McLaren was taken into custody, residents were allowed to return to their homes. A variety of Sheriff’s Office resources were utilized to resolve the situation, including the SWAT Team, Tactical Negotiations Unit, Air Unit, Bomb Team, K-9 and Patrol Services.
