Ventura County Sheriff's Department Location: 100 block of Poindexter Avenue, Moorpark, CA. (S)uspects, (V)ictims, (W)itnesses Address Age On the afternoon of 02-09-10, at about 3:17 p.m., a city of Moorpark business owner reported that a female entered his business and attempted to pass a fraudulent check, but the business owner refused due to the suspicious nature of the check. The business owner kept in visual contact of the female after she exited the store and saw the vehicle that the female had entered. The vehicle drove away from the area. The owner followed the vehicle, kept in constant contact with law enforcement authorities, and led the authorities to the vehicle that had stopped in the area of Gabbert Road south of Poindexter Avenue. Moorpark patrol deputies contacted the three occupants of the vehicle who were later identified as Santa Hernandez, Jose Sanchez, and Roberto Sanchez, all Los Angeles residents. Moorpark deputies also spoke with a witness who pointed to some items that were thrown out of the vehicle’s window in the vicinity of where the vehicle had stopped. Deputies recovered these items and found several fraudulent checks along with an identification card. In addition, several other items related to the fraudulent checks were found in the suspects’ vehicle. Moorpark deputies subsequently arrested Santa Hernandez, Jose Sanchez, and Roberto Sanchez for conspiracy to commit a crime, burglary, forgery, and identity theft. These three individuals were booked at the Ventura County Jail for these listed charges. |
