Arrest of Burglary Suspects

On 10/17/2009, at approximately 0426 hours, the Santa Paula Police Department received a call of an attempted burglary that had just occurred at “Neighborhood Market”, located at 602 N. 12th Street.

Officers responding to the area observed two suspicious subjects at High St. and Oak St. As the officers contacted the subjects, they noticed one of the subjects had a steel pipe in his hand. The subjects were detained. Further investigation revealed the subjects in fact attempted to burglarize the store however, they were unable to gain entry. The front doors of the store sustained moderate damage. The subjects were identified as Guadalupe Guadian, 28 years old and a resident of Santa Paula, and Martin Rivera, 25 years of age and a resident of Port Hueneme. Both subjects were arrested for burglary, conspiracy to commit crime, possession of stolen property, and possession of burglary tools.

As officers checked the surrounding area for any evidence, they located a female subject hiding in a vehicle in the 1100 blk. of High St. Officers contacted the subject and inquired why she was hiding in the vehicle. She was found to be the driver for the burglary suspects. Additionally, officers located in the vehicle stolen property and burglary tools. She was arrested for conspiracy to commit crime. She was identified as Rachel Kirk, 22 years of age and a resident of Oxnard.

During the investigation, officers revealed the subjects were responsible for a another burglary that occurred moments earlier at “Central Market”, located in the 1000 block of E. Main St. During that incident, the subjects forced entry through the front doors and took several items from within the store.

All three subjects were lodged at the Ventura County Jail pending a court appearance.
