Arrest of Robbery Suspect

On October 8, 2009, at approximately 4:26 p.m., Santa Paula Police Officers responded to the 100 block of S. Mill St. reference a reported robbery. Upon arrival, officers learned the suspect had assaulted and took the wallet of a 75-year-old female, who was walking in front of the Post Office.

Several witnesses chased the suspect to a nearby neighborhood. Officers quickly established a perimeter and began searching for the suspect. Santa Paula Police K-9 “Jack” was used to search for the suspect. The suspect, a 17-year-old male, whose identify will not be released because he is a juvenile, was located hiding in a residence. The suspect surrendered to officers as the police canine entered the residence.

Officers were able to recover the property taken from the victim and return it to her. The suspect was arrested for robbery and booked in the Ventura County Juvenile Hall pending a court appearance.
