Arrest of Sheriff’s Department Employee

Ventura County Sheriff's Department On Sunday September 26, 2010, a Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputy was arrested after he turned himself in to the Sheriff’s Major Crimes Bureau. Detectives with the Ventura County Major Crimes Bureau concluded their investigation of Deputy Thomas Triplett. Triplett, a fifteen-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Department was arrested for child molest and oral copulation with a person under the age of 18. Detectives believe the crimes occurred over a period of several years. Thomas Triplett was booked into the Ventura County Sheriff’s Pre-trial Detention Facility without incident. Bail has been set in the amount of $500,000. Deputy Triplett has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of criminal and departmental investigations.
