On August 04, 2009 at approximately 3:15 PM, a resident of the 200 block of Gardenia Avenue in the unincorporated area of Camarillo, reported to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department that he was the victim of an assault. The victim stated he was home alone when a suspect entered his home through an open door. The suspect, described as a male Hispanic, between the ages of 15 and 18 years old, brandished a large knife and threatened to harm the victim if he did not comply with his demands. During an altercation with the suspect, the victim was injured with a sharp object. The victim was transported to a local hospital, treated for minor injuries, and released. After a search of the residence, the victims reported miscellaneous items missing from their residence.

An extensive search for the suspect utilizing the Sheriff’s helicopter and numerous deputies was conducted.

On August 11, 2009, a possible suspect was taken into custody for an unrelated matter and booked at the Juvenile Justice Center. The Sheriff’s Department Major Crimes Bureau is investigating this incident.
