Assault with a Deadly Weapon Arrest

Ventura County Sheriff's Department On 5-1-10, at approximately 4:33p.m., Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies assigned to the West County Patrol / Ojai Station, responded to a report of a battery. Upon arrival, the deputies discovered that the victim, a 38 year old from Ventura, had been struck several times with a hard object about his head and face. The victim refused medical treatment for his injuries. During the investigation, Jeremy Evan Raoult was identified the suspect in the attack. The deputies were able to locate the suspect at 5013 Floral Drive in the unincorporated area of Ventura. As they approached the residence, the suspect ran out the back door and attempted to flee the area. The deputies were able to contain the suspect and, after a brief struggle, take him into custody. During the incident, a deputy was confronted by an aggressive pit bull. The situation resulted in the deputy shooting and killing the aggressive dog.
