Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Stabbing) Arrest

Ventura County Sheriff's Department On December 31, 2013, at approximately 11:30 pm, Steven Chavez, Cameron Pucik, and a seventeen year old female juvenile were congregating on an embankment located south of Moorpark Avenue in the city of Moorpark. At some point, a disagreement between Chavez and Pucik developed into a physical altercation. Chavez produced a knife during the incident and stabbed Pucik in the neck and abdomen. Chavez also stabbed the juvenile’s hand during the struggle. Pucik and the juvenile were transported via ambulance to Los Robles Hospital. The injuries sustained by the victims are not considered life threatening. Moorpark patrol deputies and detectives located Chavez a short time later and arrested him for assault with a deadly weapon. Chavez was booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility on $25,000.00 bail. Chavez is scheduled to be arraigned in Ventura County Superior Court on January 03, 2014. Ventura County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 reward for information, which leads to the arrest and criminal complaint against the person(s) responsible for committing crimes in Ventura County.
