Attempted Murder

Ventura County Sheriff's Department On 4/25/13, at about 11:25 pm, City of Camarillo Patrol Deputies responded to a call of a stabbing victim in the area of Ponderosa Drive and Arneill Road. The victim, Garlan Weems, reported that the suspect, Matthew Worden, exited a vehicle at the location and began arguing with him. Weems stated Worden pulled out a knife and stabbed him multiple times. Weems was transported to a local hospital and underwent surgery related to his injuries. Worden was eventually located and arrested for 664/187 (attempted murder). Worden was transported and booked into the main jail in Ventura. Anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has information reference this incident is encouraged to contact the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office / Major Crimes Bureau. Nature of Incident: 664/187 pc (Attempted Murder) Ventura County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 reward for information, which leads to the arrest and criminal complaint against the person(s) responsible for this crime.
