SAN FRANCISCO - Attorney General Kamala D. Harris expressed her condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the Riverside police officer who died in the line of duty today:

“This officer's death is a senseless loss,” Attorney General Harris said. “His service and sacrifice will never be forgotten. Our hearts go out to his family and friends, and to the Riverside Police Department.”

The 34-year-old officer died this morning in the city of Riverside. His name is not being released while the search for the suspect continues.
