 Ventura County Sheriff's Department UPDATE -Body of Deceased Newborn Baby Found in Strawberry Field Sheriff’s Homicide investigators are seeking the public’s help in the death of the newborn baby discovered on Monday, May 21st near Camarillo. Primary concern at this time is the physical and psychological well-being of the mother in this case. There were indications the mother delivered what is described as a full term fetus at the scene. Investigators are particularly interested in people who know of someone whose pregnancy may have ended mysteriously over the weekend with no sign of a baby. The case is being handled as a homicide. Investigators are trying to determine the identity of the mother as well as the manner in which the baby died.
