Burglary Arrest

Ventura County Sheriff's Department On July 12, 2011, a resident in the 2700 block of Via Vela reported a residential burglary. The victim reported the crime occurred between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. During the crime two-laptop computers, video games, and money were stolen. Detectives subsequently began an investigation, which led to the arrest of Saul Mendoza and Nicholas Kelley. Both suspects were staying at a residence in the same neighborhood. Several of the stolen items were recovered at the time of arrest. Both Mendoza and Kelley will be booked at the Ventura County Main Jail for burglary. Bail is set at $20,000. The Camarillo Police Department would like to remind all residents not to ignore someone knocking at their door. They may be better served to equip themselves with a phone and acknowledge the persons presence, without opening the door, until they know it is safe to do so. Location: Camarillo |
