Burlington Coat Factory Bomb Threat

Brandon Wimsatt On May 28, 2013, Burlington Coat Factory received a telephonic bomb threat. Several patrol units from the Thousand Oaks Police Department responded and searched the business with the help of store management. No bomb or suspicious packages were located. Detectives from the Thousand Oaks Police Department Investigations Unit conducted an investigation and learned Brandon Wimsatt’s telephone was used to call in the false bomb threat. The investigation also revealed Wimsatt took steps to hide his phone number from being discovered. On June 11, 2013, Thousand Oaks detectives located Wimsatt in the City of Thousand Oaks. Wimsatt was arrested for Falsely Reporting a Bomb to a Business. Wimsatt was booked into the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility in Ventura and his bail was set at $10,000.
