Counterfeiting/Narcotics Arrest

Ventura County Sheriff's Department Location: 2400 Pickwick Drive, Camarillo Arrestees: Resident of: Age: The Camarillo Police Department’s Special Enforcement Bureau, Detective Bureau and Sheriff’s Warrant Detail made six arrests this past week after concluding a two-week investigation into a group of suspects counterfeiting United States currency, counterfeiting credit cards and possession of narcotics. On 12/31/2009, the Special Enforcement Bureau arrested Bernie Denk, Angel Navarette and Kaylea Fomenko at Denk’s residence located in the 2400 block of Pickwick Drive in Camarillo. Bernie Denk was found in possession of approximately one thousand dollars of counterfeit Twenty, Fifty and One Hundred dollar bills. Located in Denk’s bedroom were all the materials needed to make the counterfeit currency. Suspect Navarette was also found in possession of several hundred dollars in counterfeit U.S. currency. Denk, Navarette and Fomenko were all under the influence of a controlled substance, and in possession of narcotics and narcotic paraphernalia. On 1/5/2010, the Sheriff’s Warrant Detail arrested Robert Odom, April Callis and Staci Hall in the 1600 block of Pierside Lane in Camarillo. Robert Odom was found in possession of approximately five hundred dollars in counterfeit U.S. currency along with all the materials needed to manufacture counterfeit currency. He was also found in possession of numerous counterfeit credit cards. April Callis and Hall were arrested for under the influence of a controlled substance. Denk and Odom had been living together on Pickwick Drive in Camarillo. After Denk was arrested on New Year’s Eve, Odom fled the area and would not return to the apartment. Both Odom and Denk are suspected of manufacturing and passing thousands of dollars in counterfeit currency in Ventura County. The Secret Service assisted in the investigation. All subjects were booked into the Ventura County Main Jail. |
