Criminal Threats Arrest

Ventura County Sheriff's Department On 05-07-13, detectives with the East County Major Crimes Unit arrested Thomas Pecel for making criminal threats against California Lutheran University. The incident was originally reported to the Thousand Oaks Police Department, on 05-01-13, after a university employee received a threatening e-mail that was sent to the school by Thomas Pecel. Pecel indicated in the e-mail that he wanted to commit a campus shooting. Evidence was obtained through the investigation that corroborated Pecel did in fact send the e-mail. Pecel was arrested in Ventura and booked into the Pre-Trial Detention Facility. His bail is currently set at $25,000 dollars pending his arraignment in Superior Court. Nature of Incident: Criminal Threats Arrest Ventura County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 reward for information, which leads to the arrest and criminal complaint against the person(s) responsible for this crime.
