Deputy Involved Shooting Moorpark

 Ventura County Sheriff's Department On 01-27-2012 at approximately 1400 hours, deputies were dispatched to the 10700 block of Citrus Drive regarding an armed subject creating a disturbance. While enroute, deputies were advised that the disturbing party, a male adult, was armed with a gun. Upon arrival, the disturbing party confronted two detectives who responded to the scene. The disturbing party, who was now armed with a machete, aggressively advanced towards the detectives. The detectives, fearing for their life, shot the disturbing party. Ventura County Fire and an ambulance were summoned, and the disturbing party was pronounced dead at the scene. No deputies or other persons were injured during this incident.
