On 7/11/12, a 19-year-old male was arrested after he attempted to steal a Sheriff’s patrol car and for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

At about 5:10 am, deputies responded to calls of a subject who was screaming in the area of Finrod Court and Evenstar Park in the Thousand Oaks area. The first deputy who arrived saw Cody Reiner (age 19) fully disrobed and walking through Evenstar Park yelling for unknown reasons. Reiner walked onto Bradbury Court where he was seen attempting to open the doors to parked vehicles.

The deputy confronted Reiner who ran past him and attempted to get into the driver’s seat of the police car. Reiner continued to yell incoherently and eventually charged at the deputy. The deputy deployed his Taser causing Reiner to fall on the ground. Reiner continued to resist but was taken into custody by the responding deputies.
