Ventura County Sheriff's Department On 6-4-2010, a School Resource Officer (SRO) assigned to Westlake High School received information that several students were possessing and selling Xanax, marijuana, cocaine and vicodin at the high school. The SRO conducted an intense investigation and discovered approximately eleven students were involved in the possession/sales of the aforementioned drugs. In addition, the SRO was able to identify an 18-year-old male who was responsible for selling some of the drugs to students at the high school. This 18-year-old suspect is not a student at Westlake High School. The SRO contacted Sheriff’s narcotic investigators who responded to the high school to assist in the investigation. A subsequent surveillance was conducted on the male suspect. A traffic stop was conducted on the suspect and approximately one quarter-pound of marijuana packaged for sale was located in the vehicle. A search warrant was obtained for the suspect’s residence in the 4100 block of Lemonberry Pl, Thousand Oaks. A sophisticated indoor marijuana grow operation was located in the suspect’s residence along with a rifle and ammunition. There were approximately 100 marijuana plants inside the suspect’s residence. The suspect admitted to selling marijuana and Xanax to some of the Westlake High School students who were interviewed earlier by the SRO.
