On 12/07/2011, Ella Mae Day, 83 yrs., was walking on the sidewalk west of her residence when she was struck by a vehicle backing out of a driveway. When Deputies arrived, they found her pinned underneath the vehicle. Day suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ventura County Fire Department.

Neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be a factor in the incident. The investigation is continuing.
