Fatal Traffic Collision in Ojai

Ventura County Sheriff's Department On April 17, at approximately 2:20 PM, personnel from the Ojai Police Department and the Ventura County Fire Department responded to a report of an injury traffic accident at West Ojai Ave, North of Villanova Rd. in the City of Ojai. Upon arrival, they determined a Harley Davidson motorcycle with two occupants had been traveling southbound on West Ojai Ave and collided with a black two door Ford Explorer that was traveling northbound on West Ojai Ave. The motorcycle collided with the Ford Explorer in the northbound traffic lane and the occupants were ejected off of the motorcycle. The motorcycle was ridden by a 54-year-old male from Ojai. Sonia Miller, a 38-year-old female from Ojai, was the passenger on the motorcycle. The name of the male driver on the motorcycle is not being released until the Medical Examiner can contact the next of kin. Ventura County Fire Personnel and deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene and immediately began life saving measures. Both of the occupants riding on the motorcycle were pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the collision remains under investigation. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor.
