Felony Graffiti Vandalism Arrests

Ventura County Sheriff's Department The Moorpark Police Department Special Enforcement Unit continued a three-month investigation into a vandalism crime spree in the City of Moorpark, with the service of a probation search and arrest of a juvenile. This is the fourth arrest in the past four weeks involving graffiti. Over the past three months, a suspect, using a moniker, spray painted several walls throughout the city causing thousands of dollars of damage. Investigators developed information, which led to a male juvenile as a suspect in the case. On March 30, 2013, Investigators from the Moorpark Special Enforcement Detail and Patrol Deputies from the Moorpark Police Department conducted a probation search at the juvenile’s residence in the 400 block of Millard Street, in Moorpark. Investigatory discovered items of evidentiary value linking the juvenile to the multiple vandalisms. While at the residence, several subjects were contacted. During the investigation, it was determined that several subjects (listed adult subjects above) were found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. In addition, Angel Cota was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. The juvenile was arrested for two felony counts of vandalism, one misdemeanor count of possession of vandalism tools, and violation of probation. The juvenile was released to an adult guardian. All of the adult subjects were booked into the Ventura County Sheriff’s Pre-Trial Detention Facility, Ventura.
