Gil convicted of second degree murder for the killing of Andrew Singler

VENTURA, CA - District Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced today that a jury has convicted Isaac Gil (DOB: 11/24/1989) of second degree murder for the June 14, 2008, killing of Andrew Singler. Gil, a member of the Non Stop Krew (NSK) criminal street gang, stabbed Mr. Singler during a high school graduation party. NSK gang members started a fight in the early morning hours of June 14, 2008, and began attacking partygoers. The victim was stabbed in near total darkness. Investigators methodically contacted reluctant witnesses and ultimately obtained a recorded confession from Gil. The jury further convicted Gil for committing an act of street terrorism.

Sentencing is scheduled for June 30, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. in Department 27 of the Ventura County Superior Court. Gil faces 19 years to life in prison.
