Ventura County Sheriff's Department A 16 year-old boy was shot and killed on a street corner after being confronted by two unidentified suspects Wednesday afternoon in El Rio. Deputies arrived on Stroube Street shortly after 4:00 pm, where they found the victim lying in the street. Rescue personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The suspects left in an older tan Chevy Tahoe or GMC Yukon southbound on Alvarado Street. The first suspect was described as an Hispanic male wearing dark clothing. He was 5’5” to 5’7” with a stocky build and shaved head. The second suspect was described as an Hispanic male wearing dark clothing. He was 5’5” to 5’7” with a thin build. He had a dark complexion and short dark hair. Both suspects were in their late teens or early twenties. Anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident or saw the suspect vehicle is urged to contact Sergeant Cary Peterson at 805 384-4744. Ventura County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 reward for information, which leads to the arrest and criminal complaint against the person(s) responsible for this crime.
