Homicide investigation

Ventura County Sheriff's Department At approximately 10:00 AM Sunday morning, Sheriff’s patrol units responded to numerous 911 calls of a fight in progress in the 17000 block of East Telegraph Road. When the units arrived they found an unidentified male deceased in the street. Witnesses reported seeing the fight and seeing the suspect running away on foot north on Ferris Lane. The investigation determined the suspect may have barricaded himself in a trailer in the 100 block of Ferris Lane. The Sheriff’s SWAT team was called to the scene, as well as negotiators and additional patrol resources to secure the area and locate the suspect. At about 3:00 PM, after hours of unsuccessful attempts to contact the suspect by the Tactical Negotiations Unit, SWAT made entry into a residence on Ferris Lane locating a subject who was deceased. This subject is also unidentified. At this time, the investigation is continuing. The identities of the victim and the second subject are not yet being released until the next of kin can been notified. At this time there is no indication that there are any other subjects involved.
