Homicide Investigation in Camarillo

On 11/28/11, at about 3:45 P.M., Victim Juan Carlos Valadez was walking in an alley at the above location. A known suspect confronted Valadez and Valadez ran away. The suspect chased Valadez in the alley and caught him near the intersection of Arneill Road. The suspect stabbed Valadez and then fled the area with at least two other males. Paramedics were summoned and attempted to aid Valadez but he succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.

The incident is believed to be gang related as both the victim and suspect(s) are known to be affiliated with rival Camarillo area gangs.

On 11/29/11 at about 3:00 P.M., Major Crimes Investigators and Camarillo P.D. Detectives, working around the clock, made an arrest of a 15 year-old male in connection with the homicide. This investigation is ongoing and the search for others involved in this crime is also continuing.
