Homicide in Somis

Ventura County Sheriff's Department Camarillo Deputies responded to a call of a gunshot victim around 1700 hours, on Monday, February 1st at the Mission Nursery in Somis. When they arrived they found a male victim, later identified as Gilberto Aguilera 36 yrs of Somis, had been shot by a known suspect that had fled the scene. The Sheriff’s Department airlifted the victim, to a local hospital and he was later pronounced dead. Within a few hours Major Crimes Detectives were able to locate the suspect and take him into custody without incident in Camarillo. The suspect is Justo Mora Navarro, a Somis resident. Navarro was arrested and will be booked into the Pre Trial Detention Facility.
