Injury Traffic Accident, Vehicle vs. Pedestrian, Central Avenue at Sespe, Fillmore

At approximately 3:30 PM Friday, Martin Gonzales made a left turn from westbound Sespe Street to southbound Central Avenue. While completing his turn, his Ford Expedition struck Pedro Garcia, who was walking eastbound in the crosswalk. Gonzales waited with Garcia until emergency personnel from the Fillmore Police Department, Fillmore Fire Department, and American Medical Response arrived minutes later. Garcia was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center with minor-to-moderate injuries. Initial investigation found no indication of drug or alcohol use by either party. The investigation is ongoing.
