Major Crimes detectives and Jail personnel are investigating a Todd Road Jail inmate death that occurred at Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura. The death appears to be from natural causes. There was no indication of violence or suspicious circumstances.

On April 17, 2013, at approximately 3:15 a.m., Bucciarelle became ill in her cell at the Todd Road Jail. Deputies and jail medical staff responded immediately and rendered aid. Ventura County Fire personnel and paramedics were summoned and Bucciarelle was transported to Community Memorial Hospital by ambulance. She was pronounced dead at about 6:00 a.m. by hospital staff.

The cause of death is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit, pending an autopsy by the Medical Examiner.
