The Thousand Oaks Police Department / Internet Crimes Against Children Unit and FBI arrested Thousand Oaks resident, Tom Keller Nation, age 42, for possessing child pornography.

The investigation began in May of 2011, when an undercover detective of The Thousand Oaks Police Department / Internet Crimes Against Children Unit using a publicly available file-sharing program saw that Nation was sharing illegal child pornography. The downloaded images and videos contained visual depictions of actual minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

A search warrant was served today at Nation’s residence. Nation’s computer was seized and turned over to the Southern California High Tech Task Force who will conduct a forensic examination of the computer.

Nation was arrested without incident at his residence and booked on felony possession of child pornography into the Ventura County Jail. Nation’s bail is set at $50,000.

The Thousand Oaks Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children Unit has made the investigation of online sexual predators, and those who choose to exchange images of child pornography a top priority, and will continue to aggressively investigate, identify, and prosecute those persons involved in Internet Crimes against Children.
