Kidnapping/Robbery

Ventura County Sheriff's Department On 8/30/13, patrol deputies from the Headquarters Patrol Station responded to a robbery and kidnapping that occurred in the 2800 Block of Eucalyptus Drive in the unincorporated area of Ventura County known as Nyeland Acres. When patrol deputies arrived, they contacted the uninjured male victim. During the investigation, patrol deputies determined the victim was contacted by the suspect and robbed of his money. During the incident, the suspect assaulted the victim with a firearm and forced him to move to a more secluded area. After robbing the victim, the suspect fled the scene. The victim was not injured. On 8/31/13, the Sheriff’s Gang Unit assumed the investigation and quickly identified the suspect as Sergio Carrillo, a documented gang member from Oxnard. The Gang Unit learned Carrillo was on active parole and had been released recently from prison. With assistance from the Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail, the Sheriff’s Gang unit located and arrested Carrillo the robbery. Carrillo was subsequently booked at the Sheriff’s Main Jail on charges of kidnapping for robbery, robbery, assault with a firearm, being under the influence of illegal drugs and committing a crime for benefit of a criminal street gang. Nature of Incident: Kidnapping/Robbery Ventura County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 reward for information, which leads to the arrest and criminal complaint against the person(s) responsible for this crime.
