On March 29th, 2013, patrol deputies, Sheriff’s Major Crimes detectives, and the Sheriff’s Gang Unit responded to a robbery that just occurred at Lupita’s Wireless located in the unincorporated community of Saticoy. The suspects in the robbery brandished a handgun at the store employee and stole several expensive cell phones. Witnesses described a white female and two Hispanic males as the suspects in the robbery.

The Sheriff’s Gang Unit conducted an investigation into the robbery and identified Krista Munoz, Ruben Desoto and Eric Mahoney as the suspects in the robbery. Through the investigation, Detectives learned that the subjects had also committed several commercial burglaries in which power tools and other items were stolen.

On 04-24-13, Sheriff’s Gang Unit detectives conducted surveillance on a residence in the 3600 block of A Court in Oxnard. Munoz and Desoto were taken into custody after they were seen leaving the residence. Detectives returned to the residence with a search warrant. Evidence from the robbery was recovered.

Munoz and Desoto were booked at the Main Jail for 211 PC – Robbery and 182(a)(1) PC – Conspiracy to commit a crime. Mahoney was already in custody in Santa Barbara County on charges unrelated to the robbery and a warrant was submitted for his arrest.
