Man Arrested for Secretly Videotaping up Women’s Skirts

Murat Aksu, age 32 of Ventura On June 18, 2010, Sheriff’s Deputies working at the Ventura County Courthouse were notified by other Government Center employees that a man on the grounds was acting suspiciously. Deputies began looking for the person and eventually found the suspect, 32-year-old Murat Aksu. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Aksu was secretly videotaping under women’s skirts as they walked to and from the Government Center Complex without their knowledge by use of a miniature video camera hidden in a briefcase. Aksu engaged his victims in conversation while the videotaping was occurring. During the investigation, investigators seized video evidence supporting the allegations. Other information indicates that Aksu had been walking around the complex wearing a government I.D. around his neck giving him an official appearance. Information from witnesses indicates that Aksu may have been periodically conducting this activity from as early as February 2010. Aksu was arrested on June 18th for using a concealed camera to secretly videotape another and was booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility.
