Moorpark Burglary Arrests

Ventura County Sheriff's Department During November and December 2010, several Moorpark residents reported vehicle burglaries and thefts of property from their unlocked vehicles in the city of Moorpark. During the ensuing investigation, detectives from the Moorpark Police Department identified a suspect. On January 15, 2011, patrol deputies located the suspect’s vehicle on Los Angeles Avenue in the city of Moorpark. Deputies conducted an enforcement stop and located an abundance of stolen property in the vehicle. Detectives were called to the scene and were able to link Anthony Nave and Talaya Cooper to several vehicle burglaries and property thefts from the city of Moorpark and other surrounding areas. Detectives learned that Nave and Cooper were also involved in identity theft and credit card fraud. Nave is currently in custody pending a $50,000.00 bail. Cooper was released from custody on bail. Additionally, during the investigation, detectives learned that Talaya Cooper is employed as an in-home care giver for elderly patients in need of assisted living, which gives her access to patients’ property and personal information.
