Narcotic Arrests in El Rio

Ventura County Sheriff's Department The West County Street Team of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Bureau completed an investigation into narcotics sales occurring in the unincorporated area of Ventura County known as El Rio. Narcotics detectives received information that Rodriguez was involved in methamphetamine sales from his residence in El Rio where he resides with his girlfriend, Brenda Rios, and her 7 year old son. Based on observations made by detectives during surveillance, a search warrant was obtained for Rodriguez and his residence. During the evening hours of 1-24-2012, detectives located Rodriguez and Rios in a public parking lot in Oxnard. They were both detained pursuant to the search warrant. During this process, Rodriguez resisted and was taken into custody. Inside Rodriguez’ vehicle, detectives found 8 ounces of methamphetamine. During the search of the residence, detectives located an additional 3 ounces of methamphetamine, a small amount of cocaine, and over $3,000 in cash. Rodriguez and Rios were arrested and booked for the transportation of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine for sale, child endangering, and resisting arrest.
