Acting on a tip received from the community, the Sheriff’s West County Street Narcotics Team conducted an investigation into ecstasy sales occurring in the City of Camarillo. During the evening hours of January 15, 2009, detectives observed what appeared to be a narcotics transaction in the area of Las Posas Rd and Upland Dr. At that time, detectives contacted Gavin Brown and located 38 ecstasy tablets. Brown was subsequently arrested for sales of ecstasy and possession of ecstasy for sale. Ecstasy is a highly addictive designer drug, which can act as both a stimulant and hallucinogen. It is popular with teens and young adults. The seized tablets had a street value of approximately $350.00. Brown was booked into the Sheriff’s Main Jail.
