Narcotics Arrest

Ventura County Sheriff's Department On 8/10/12, the sheriff’s office concluded a month-long narcotics investigation into a drug dealer operating in the city of Moorpark. On this date, detectives with the East County Narcotics Team and the Moorpark Police Special Enforcement Detail arrested Miles Coughlin at a shopping center located at the intersection of Tierra Rejada and Spring Roads. Coughlin was arrested without incident and found in possession of prescription medication for sale. Evidence was located in Coughlin’s possession indicating that he was illegally selling the medication. This was Coughlin’s second arrest for possession of drugs for sale within the last few months. During Coughlin’s arrest, detectives found a minor child in the vehicle. It was determined the minor was not involved in the illegal sales and was released to a guardian. Because of the potential dangerous situation involved in illegal drug dealing, Coughlin was also arrested for child endangerment. Coughlin was booked at the East County Sheriff’s Jail with bail set at $20,000.00. He is due to be arraigned on 8/14/12.
