Residential Burglary Arrests

Ventura County Sheriff's Department On 9/16/13, at approximately 11:15 a.m., the Thousand Oaks Police Department received a call of a burglary in progress in the 300 block of Mesa Avenue. Upon returning home, the victim observed two males leaving out of the front door of the victim’s residence. The victim telephoned 9-1-1 to report the crime. A description of the two suspects was provided as well as the description and license plate of vehicle in which the suspects fled. The Thousand Oaks Police Department units set up a perimeter. Approximately 40 minutes later, a patrol unit observed the suspect vehicle driving in the area of La Grange Avenue and Lynn Road, and initiated a high risk vehicle stop. The driver, (S) Barker, and the passenger, (S) Torres, were detained and identified by both the victim and witness. Evidence located in the vehicle linked the suspects to the residential burglary. The Thousand Oaks Police Department’s Investigations Unit is still actively investigating to determine whether these suspects are involved in other recent residential burglaries in the Thousand Oaks area.
